Bearpaws Hand Poured Baits
  • Color: Ginger Christmas: Oxblood - red / green fleck
  • Conditons: Cloudy/ Murkey / 3-5 ft. of water
  • Lake Fished: Lake Marion
  • Fish Caught: 2 Bass I would like to thank John Olsen, Sr., owner and creator of Bearpaws hand poured baits, for being nice enough to send me all the samples. I will be adding more when after I test them. A lot of people don't know the advantages of using, and buying hand poured bait. If your one of them, just Click Here to learn why. John sent me his 4" lazy stick in a variety of colors, as well as his 5" lazy stick, 6" slick stick, and 3" grub. Like I said before I'll be adding those once I get a chance. This review is about his 4" Lazy stick. I had him make a custom color for me called ginger Christmas. I was Carolina rigging it from shore. These seemed to work good Carolina rigged because they float. I caught two good bass about 10-15 min. apart. These baits are very durable. I only got a minor tare in one worm, but I can easily fix it with a lighter. I was hoping to test other colors but it started to rain. A cool thing about these baits is how well they float. This makes the bait stay in the strike zone longer. Salt is also added to these baits, making it attract more fish. Look out for other Bearpaw baits being reviewed. These baits are excellent, he even takes time to trim them himself. To see the complete color, and product list of Bearpaws baits visit them at www.bearpawshandpouredbaits.com

    Culprit Baits

  • Color: Chili Pepper / Tassle Tail Worm - Watermelon Silver Flake / Finesse Worm - Goby / Tassle Lizard
  • Conditions: Murkey, Cloudy, 3-5 ft. of water
  • Lake Fished: Lake Marion
  • Fish Caught: 1 Bass

Culprit sent me 3 bait to review, a 7" Tassel Tail Worm, 6" Tassel Lizard, and a 5" finesse worm. A nice feature about these baits are the colors. The colors they sent me were Chili Pepper / Tassel Tail Grub, Goby / Tassel Lizard, Watermelon silver Flake / Finesse Worm. The color I really like is the Chili Pepper. Its green and on the bottom its got red with really bright red flakes. While Fishing the Culprit baits I caught a Bass on the finesse worm. While reeling the fish in it tore the bait. I was surprised because the bait seemed really soft and flexible. Later I cut the worm where it was torn. I then used the side that was about 3" long and started to fish with that. I caught a couple good sized Bluegill with it. No fish were caught on the Tassel Tail Worm, or the Tassel Lizard. I tried the Tassel Tail Worm, and Tassel Lizard # different days, and still no results. I Carolina rigged the Tassel Lizard and Finesse Worm, and Texas rigged the Tassel Tail Worm. These baits seem pretty good, about average.

Snag Proof Moss Master Tournament Frog

  • Color: Green
  • Conditions:Partly Cloudy, Early Morning, Clear Water, 3-5 ft. of Water
  • Lake Fished: Lake Marion
  • Fish Caught: 4 Bass

This lure is AWESOME!! On the container is says is guaranteed snag less, and I now know why. This lure is snag less. When I was going to try it for the first time, I looked for the worst weeds. I saw a spot with about 6 bobber's in the weeds, so I decided to cast there. I didn't snag. The only time I snagged was when I unhooked a fish and forgot to put the hooks back in the working position. I got it out easily. This lure moves threw the weeds just like a real frog would. Also the tassels on the back make it look like a swimming frog. I caught 4 fish in about 45-60 min. This is my most prized lure In my tackle box as of now. If it were to snag I would swim in the worst weeds to get it. I don't worry about that due to the fact its so snag less. This lure is a MUST have.

Strike King 3X Trick Floating Worm

  • Color: Methiolate, Bubble Gum, Pearl
  • Conditions:Partly Cloudy, Muddy Water, 3-5 ft. of Water
  • Lake Fished: Lake Marion
  • Fish Caught: 5

First I would like to thank Strike King for sending me the 3X Trick Floating Worms to test and review. I like many features of this worm, like how flexible they are. I did a little test, I took one of the 7" 3X Trick Floating Worms, and a regular 7" worm. They both had the same shape. The regular 7" worm could only stretch to 8" Then I took the 7" 3X trick Floating Worm and stretched it out. I got easily to 43" I could have gotten to 50" I'm sure but then I couldn't hold it in front of the tape measure. You should get the idea, THE 3X TRICK FLOATING WORM IS FLEXIBLE! One bad thing, is just a minor thing. The problem is when you place these baits with other plastic baits they can deform. But still these should last you along time. When testing this, I knew I would catch a fish because of the presentation. After a few casts, I had a bass on. It was average, and I caught about 5 bass of that size. I caught most of the fish on the color pearl. The water was muddy, and it was partly cloudy. I was in a boat near some lilly's. I also tried these baits on crappie. I just cut the bait in 1/2. They loved it! I caught to many to count. This bait also has a lot of salt and scent added to it. I could smell it from the boat when it was in the water. I think Strike King should make all there baits like this.
